Real Lawyers. Real Compliance. Not Just an Address.
rep4eu was founded by two EU-licensed lawyers and a technology entrepreneur who believe that GDPR compliance deserves more than a forwarding address. When authorities reach out, a qualified lawyer answers — not a mailroom.
Why We Built rep4eu
Most Article 27 "representative" services are postal addresses with a logo. They receive mail, forward it to you, and call it a day.
But GDPR Article 27 demands more than that. A representative must be reachable, responsive, and able to engage meaningfully with supervisory authorities and data subjects. When a regulator writes, they expect a qualified response — not a bounce-back.
We started rep4eu because we saw companies paying for compliance theatre. A mailbox in the EU doesn't protect you. A lawyer who understands data protection law does.
- 📬 Forwarding address
- 📨 Mail scanning
- ❌ No legal expertise
- ❌ No authority engagement
- ⚖️ Licensed EU lawyers
- 📋 Authority response handling
- 🛡️ Legal risk assessment
- ✅ Real compliance operations
The People Behind rep4eu
We're a small team by design. Every client gets direct access to the people who actually run the company.
Christos Paloubis
Co-Founder & Rechtsanwalt (Attorney-at-Law)
Licensed in Germany since 2000
Christos studied law in Munich and Rome, completed his legal training in Munich and New York, and has been a licensed attorney in Germany since 2000. He has spent over two decades at the intersection of law and technology — from organizing internet law seminars as a student in 1997, to serving as General Counsel at Interway AG and in-house counsel at iName.com in New York.
He has accompanied the founding and growth of multiple internet companies, including serving on the board of POLIXEA AG. His practice areas span internet law, copyright, competition law, telecommunications, and — most relevant to rep4eu — data protection law.
Christos is a lecturer at SDI München and runs the blog Internetrecht München. He speaks Greek, English, French, and Italian.
Felix Gebhard
Co-Founder & Rechtsanwalt (Attorney-at-Law)
Licensed in Germany since 2013 · Certified Data Protection Officer (TÜV SÜD)
Felix studied law at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität Munich and the Universidad de León in Spain, and completed his legal training in Munich and Washington, D.C. At Berliner, Corcoran & Rowe LLP in Washington, he gained hands-on experience in US intellectual property and corporate law.
Since the start of his career, Felix has focused on eCommerce, marketing, and media law. Over time, his specialization has deepened into the intersection of competition law and data protection — particularly the legal questions around tracking, ads, remarketing, and direct marketing. He is a certified Data Protection Officer (DSB-TÜV SÜD) since 2017.
Felix regularly teaches and speaks on data protection topics, including OMR Deep Dives. He speaks English and Spanish.
Alexander Hagemann
Co-Founder & Technology
15 years in software engineering · Founder of Cloudkasten GmbH
Alex has spent 15 years progressing from .NET backend developer to engineering leader, delivering cloud-native, real-time settlement services for institutional clients in global payments.
In 2017 he founded Cloudkasten GmbH, through which he builds and operates software products — including the platform behind rep4eu. His stack spans .NET/C#, Microsoft Azure, Kubernetes, and event-driven microservices, with a strong focus on security, automation, and domain-driven design.
Alex completed the Oxford Executive Leadership Programme and the Oxford Entrepreneurship: Venture Creation course at Saïd Business School. He speaks and mentors at conferences and university capstones on clean architecture and tech leadership.
How We Work
Our approach is shaped by how Christos and Felix run their law firm, FX Legal — adapted for the scale and speed that digital businesses need.
We Understand Your Business First
Our advice doesn't stop at answering the legal question. We discuss the practical implications with you — because only when you understand the legal risks and the business impact can you make a sound decision.
We Communicate on Your Level
We know that fast, clear communication matters. We skip the legalese and speak plainly — quick, understandable, and pragmatic. No 40-page opinion letters unless you actually want one.
We Focus on What Works
Our goal is always a commercially sensible solution. That's not always the most obvious legal answer. We work with you to find pragmatic outcomes, without unnecessary detours. Focus on essentials, not paperwork.
Why Lawyers and Technology?
Most compliance services are either pure tech (automated, but legally shallow) or pure law firm (thorough, but slow and expensive). We built rep4eu to be both.
The legal side — authority responses, documentation, risk assessment — is handled by Christos and Felix, two attorneys with a combined 35+ years of practice in internet law, data protection, and eCommerce regulation.
The technology side — onboarding, document handling, monitoring — is built by Alex, with enterprise-grade security standards from his work in global payments and financial infrastructure.
The result: you get the legal substance of a specialized law firm, delivered with the speed and transparency of a modern software product.
What Makes Us Different
We're not a compliance factory. Here's what you actually get when you work with rep4eu.
Lawyers, Not Letter Openers
Your designated EU representative is backed by attorneys licensed in Germany with training in New York and Washington, D.C. When authorities contact us, they speak to someone qualified to respond.
Real German Legal Entity
We operate through an established German GmbH — not a virtual office or shell company. Our legal standing is verifiable and our operations are accountable.
Certified Data Protection
Felix holds a TÜV SÜD Data Protection Officer certification. This isn't a generic compliance course — it's the German industry standard for DPO qualification.
24-Hour Setup
Our tech-driven onboarding gets you covered fast. Most clients go from sign-up to fully designated EU representative within one business day.
Direct Access to Founders
You talk to Christos, Felix, or Alex directly — not through a ticket queue or chatbot. Three founders, high accountability. That's by design.
Transparent, Fair Pricing
No hidden fees. No upsells. Plans start at €29/month because compliance shouldn't be a luxury reserved for enterprises.
What We Stand For
Substance Over Symbols
We believe compliance is operational, not decorative. A badge on your website means nothing if there's no lawyer behind it.
Accessibility
Every company that needs an EU representative should be able to afford a good one. Not just enterprises with six-figure legal budgets.
Accountability
When regulators come calling, we're there. Our clients trust us because we deliver on our promises and take responsibility for outcomes.
Honesty
We don't use scare tactics. We tell you clearly whether you need an EU representative, what's at stake, and what to expect.
